Be on the look out for more news regarding future releases! The Imperial University has a number of new courses in the works, and they are striving to add up to 40 new courses over the next few months!

Imperial University Status
Effective immediately I have taken over as the overseer of the Imperial University. All outstanding exams, currently counting at 14 total, will be graded and processed today. My apologies to all members and Cadets who have been waiting, I was not aware that the exams were piling up as they were. Look for new courses and other changes to come soon for the IU! wink

Imperial University Releases Degrees!!!
Today marks the first day in our history that we will begin the issuing of Degrees in multiple fields and areas. After a deep roster search I have granted all of those who have currently taken the required courses for a certain degree a degree. Those of you will have to note that just because you have taken multiple courses will not grant you a degree. It is specific courses that must be taken to earn a degree. Now I ask that everyone hold off for a few days on taking exams at the IU because almost 75% of our courses are in dire need of updates. The Dean of Education and myself have already began work on the process of updating all of these courses.

Due to computer problems, the MoO will not be capable of making the needed adjustments currently but the Grand Moff has been notified and will most likely make the corrections needed in the next few days. Congratulations to those who have earned their first degrees and to those who may be eager to try out for theirs, please just give us a few days to get things more updated and we'll announce degree openings as they are available.

Currently I am going to allow all ID members to earn either their Captains Degree for the Navy or Operators Degree for the Legion. To earn a Captains Degree one must take the Fleet Tactics Course, and the Capital Ships Course. For an Operators Degree one must take the Ground Tactics Course and the Armored Transport Course. These two degrees are the first of our release, but we have many many more to come and we hope it will spark a new excitement here in the Directorate.

The Imperial University Redesign
On the day of December 1st it was made official between the Grand Moff and Minister of Education that the Tarkin campus would no longer be a part of the Imperial University. Many of the courses present within the Tarkin Campus were outdated, and of no value but those that were will be updated and kept as teachings here at the Imperial University.

On this day of December 2nd I am proud to announce that in honor of our former Grand Moff Nykkel Orzon, a new campus will be born in the Imperial University. It shall be known as the Orzon Campus of Leadership and Political Progression. The campus will be headed by myself and will be closed to the mass membership to simply come in and take courses. Each course provided at the Orzon Campus(OC) will have requirements of rank, as well as time of service to the Directorate. With the birth of this campus also comes a new training area for our Ministers and leaders of the Directorate. All Ministers have clearance to study at this campus, but all other leaders and members must first contact the Minister of Education about the course they want to take and why. As stated earlier all courses will have requirements, but higher courses will also require degree's in courses outside of the OC.

For those of you who have a deep interest in study of the true political history, science and governments of the Directorate in the past and present you will now have a chance. Courses pertaining to advanced pilot, starship captain, and stormtrooper positions will also be placed here. Wanting to join a SpecOps squad or an Elite squadron? Or perhaps combat in direct is not for you.. ..you would rather command some of the new prototype star ships, or gain the rights to lead your crew and fleets into uncharted space. Being capable of this requires the knowledge taught here. Minister specific courses that will focus on teachings from the ministers themselves will soon be available as they make their own history here in the Directorate. The final addition to this the closing of the JerJerrod Campus as it has held only one to three courses. This leads to another important change here at the IU.

The Core Exam will no longer be in service to the Directorate. Its design was so simplistic that in truth no one that came through the IU really learned anything of real importance that they could have used to their advantage once they were placed in the Navy or Legion. This was also a frequent problem in the past with the Territories and Directorate Guard. This however is now going to be fixed. Also discussed with the Grand Moff, the Core will now be closed and the use of division specific core's will now be in effect. Both myself and the Dean of Education will be working on this to get them done in the next 24-48 hours so please bare with temporary stay here recruits, it will not be long I promise. As previously stated, the JerJerrod campus will be closed due to its pure unneeded value here - however this will only be temporary as I also have plans for the campus to reopen very soon as the SoD's personal campus. This will however need to be gone over with our Archon. So do not expect this to happen soon.

There is also the matter of the Sienar Campus of Technology and Thrawn Campus of Tactical Warfare. Both campuses are quite small and have gained little addition over the past but the use of them has been moderate and questions about the campus as well as interest has picked up over the past few weeks. However I do not believe in having two minor campuses struggle. There for I am going to be combining the two campuses to make a more broad campus that will house two values much like the Orzon Campus. This day of December 2nd will also bring the conversion of these two campuses into the birth of the Madine Campus of Technology and Tactics. Some of you may know the character I've named the campus after, some of you may not and no its not named after the DB member.

There was once an officer in the Imperial Fleet known as Crix Madine who was a master stratagist, one of the best that nearly rivaled Thrawn. If by only watching the movie you will see that the strike against the Death Star was planned and master minded by none other than a defected rebel General Crix Madine. Madine also had much to do with the heading of Imperial technology and development, which would also explain his in depth grasp of the death star from only the schematics. Thus I feel this to be an appropriate name for such a campus. This campus will be headed by the Dean of Education and will soon be under his development and supervision. I have full confidence that this will bring about the better development of our strategic, tactical knowledge and I hope to bring a knowledge of development of multiple new technologies here in the ID. I too will be a personal studier at this campus. It will of course be open to anyone who has an interest in such things. I also hope to expand beyond tactics in just warfare, there are tactics to business and other important factors to ones career that can be taught here as well.

This leaves the Veers Campus of the Legion and Piett Campus of the Navy. I had pondered combining these two campuses as well into a Military training campus. However I will give this a while to see how some other changes to these two campuses as separate campuses will do. New courses will be added to these campuses soon. They will remain open to everyone, but many of the courses will soon be altered and there are no answer sheets for the current courses so we will be delayed on getting some courses graded and it would pry be best to just wait until they are updated as they are real difficult to take when they are outdated but the course information is updated to our current area. These should all be updated by the end of December, or so I am hoping. Both the DoE and myself will be working on this. If things do not succeed however there is a chance that the two campuses may combine and be under split direction of myself and the DoE. Currently I am going to state that if the MoD or MoL would like to see these courses updated to their standards, than they should do them. Other wise these courses are going to be done to my standards and will contain and teach what I feel should be taught. This some times brings up problems, so if there are any courses that the MoD or MoL want to do themselves, I will grant these to them for two weeks. Otherwise I'll most likely do them.

This is a big change for the Imperial University but it is for the best as it does away with excess flap and allows both the MoE and DoE positions to better focus in on the courses in sectioned areas and I hope will help us get them updated quicker. So here is how the University will be set up.

Orzon Campus of Leadership and Political Progression
Madine Campus of Tactics and Technology
Veers Campus of the Legion
Piett Campus of the Navy
(To Come) JerJerrod Campus of Shadows

Thanks and we hope things will be running smoothly as December progresses.
